As a result, the company’s ISO 9001:2000 certification has been extended by a year, and we have once again come across as an organization that adheres to international quality standards and is adept at maintaining consistent performance levels.

The Auditors were appreciative of our streamlined processes, high-tech, industry-standard infrastructure and flexibility in adjusting to changing market conditions and industry environments.

In what popular blogs called the United States’ “close-to-collapsing-moment”, Twitter went down for 2 days suffering a distributed denial-of-service attack (DDOS). Rival Facebook and popular site LiveJournal too suffered a DOS assault the same day (Thursday). While Facebook and LiveJournal only limped throughout the day, Twitter was completely down, displaying an error message when accessed. Even Twitter applications Tweetdeck, Seesmic, Power Twitter etc. remained unusable for a long time.

Facebook and LiveJournal started performing normally the next day (Friday), but Twitter remained latent for most of the users. Though the site’s status blog said that it was taking measures to recover from the assault, recuperation happened only hours later.

Twitter outages have become notorious stories on the web, ridiculing the site’s technological inability to keep up with its rapid growth. comScore reported recently that Twitter has attracted 44.5 million visitors in June. The user count also keeps growing every day. With more and more businesses warming up to Twitter, such outages prove critical to the service’s growth.

Wikipedia was down today for quite some time and was displaying an error message stating that “Sorry! This site is experiencing technical difficulties”. Refer to the screen shot below! Wikipedia has always been a rich source of information for all the people around the world and it nearly attracts 132,730,000 users / month.

Have you ever heard Wikipedia being down before? Is it a beginning of an end or a great episode coming to an end in World Wide Web? Wikipedia has been a great place for information retrieval and this day will be remembered for sure!

Though the error page given has been provided with an option to search from Google, there is no relevant information there. When I searched for the phrase “Michael Jackson” it provides only lukewarm information. Do I really need this from Wikipedia???
