Adobe Releases Photoshop CS6 Beta

Adobe has recently released a public beta for its upcoming photo-editing application Photoshop CS6. The beta version enables users to try out the new application that has a redesigned interface with a number of new features including 3D editing tools.

Photoshop CS6 beta sports a new dark grey interface with modern UI options. The key features are the new Content-Aware Patch and Content-Aware Move tools. Other improvements include a refined crop tool, enhanced raw image processing and a new Blur Gallery that allows users to add Iris, Tilt-Shift and Field blur effects easily. Adobe claims that users will receive an excellent experience with the new version which is powered by the new Mercury Graphics Engine.

There is a new video editor included in CS6. The application also has a new Adaptive Wide angle filter that lets users straighten objects that are curved. The existing Camera Raw Plug-in has been enhanced.

The beta version is available for free until the full version arrives. It can be downloaded from the Adobe Labs site for Mac OS and Microsoft Windows platforms.

Winston Hendrickson, vice president products, Creative Media solutions, Adobe said, “Photoshop CS6 will be a milestone release that pushes the boundaries of imaging innovation with incredible speed and performance.” He added, “We couldn’t wait to share this beta of Photoshop CS6 with our customers and are looking forward to hearing from them and seeing the ways they are incorporating the beta into their daily creative workflows.”

The final release of Photoshop CS6 is expected to arrive during the first half of 2012.
