iPhone 5 to Launch on August 7?
If rumors are to be believed, the most awaited smartphone, the iPhone 5, is scheduled to launch on August 7, 2012. Reports state that the next generation iPhone has already entered the production phase and will arrive in the first week of August.
According to a report by the tech website Know Your Mobile, “A reliable industry source” has revealed that the iPhone 5 launch will occur via a keynote speech on August 7. However, Apple has not made any official announcement yet.
At present, details about specifications, design and availability haven’t been confirmed, but a lot of speculation has been going on around. The iPhone 5 is expected to be released with iOS 6, Apple’s latest mobile OS, which has been described by Apple as the “world’s most advanced mobile operating system.” But there is also the possibility of iOS 6 being released after the launch of the iPhone 5. The new iOS is likely to bring in iCloud and Facebook integration. The new handset is expected to sport some design changes with a larger Retina Display, a slimmer form factor and the addition of glass to its unibody backplate. Some tweaks or new features in the camera and maps are also expected.
Whenever the iPhone 5 actually debuts, it will most probably offer features that measure up to those of competitors like Samsung Galaxy S III. Reports of Amazon preparing to launch a smartphone that would compete with the iPhone have also been doing their rounds in recent times.
