Mozilla announced that the company has renewed its agreement with Google to make it the default search engine for the next three years.
Recently there has been a decline in the market share of Firefox, and Google has seen an amazing amount of success with its browser Chrome. Therefore, there had been a speculation over whether Google would come forward to renew its deal with Mozilla. Finally, the search giant has agreed to extend this long-term relationship.
In Mozilla’s blog, the company’s CEO said Gary Kovacs said, “Under this multi-year agreement, Google Search will continue to be the default search provider for hundreds of millions of Firefox users around the world”. Alan Eustace, Google’s senior vice president of Search said, “Mozilla has been a valuable partner to Google over the years and we look forward to continuing this great partnership in the years to come”.
The terms of this commercial agreement have not yet been disclosed by both these companies.
