Google has added its +1 button to image search for better sharing of images.

As a part of its integrated approach to social recommendation, Google had already added the +1 buttons to many of its web services like Google Search and Google Reader and now it has updated the image search to include the +1 functionality. Image search results will appear with a +1 button at the bottom to enable users recommend them within their Google+ Circles.

google-plus-screenshot“In March, we introduced the +1 button to let you make recommendations right from your search results page. Now, we’re extending this ability to Google Images,” wrote Xiaorui Gan, a Software Engineer at Google. “By hovering over one of the images, you can quickly recommend this photo to your friends by clicking the +1 button”.

This new feature works for those users who have set up a Google profile and enabled it.
