There is yet another curious case regarding Apple iPhone apps – apps go missing on the iTunes store every now and then. No, this is not about apps that are removed or banished from the store, but existing apps that are not listed or visible when searched for using the App store search feature.

If you are a developer/company having about 50+ apps on the App store, chances are only 30+ of your apps maybe listed when a user searches for your apps or developer/company name on the iTunes store. But same is not the case when you log in through your developer account. When you log in as a developer, you will find all your apps listed on the iTunes store. Though you can access the app on the browser through the iTunes app URL, you cannot find it in the iTunes store search listings. The below screenshots of a popular app titled Tamil 100 reveal this:

If you search for the app using the iTunes store search feature, you may not find it.

Search iTunes Store

But if you search using the app’s iTunes store URL, you will find it listed:

Search Using iTunes Store URL

This seems to be a recent glitch in the search feature of the iTunes store. Now that many are noticing this glitch, it is high time that Apple looks into it and sets it right.
