Pundits predict Google to rise again in 2011 with Android. At present Android holds second place in mobile platform market, next only to Nokia’s Symbian. Next year Android may hear more good news.
Google’s Android saw a massive growth this year and it is expected to continue next year with many popular devices running Android will be launched at the beginning of 2011. Motorola’s tablet is going to get unveiled with Android 3.0 Honeycomb and Samsung Galaxy Player will run Android 2.2 Freyo. Google Nexus S running Gingerbread version of Android was already launched and well received in the smartphone market.
Developers, too, are excited about the growth of Android. Two moths before Android Market surpassed 1,00,000 and now it has crossed 2,00,000 mark. It took two years for Android to cross 1,00,000 and within 63 days it has doubled that. It may beat App Store, which has 3,00,000 apps, in the near future.
Google is expected to merge Chrome OS with Android in 2011.
