Facebook users have criticized the latest changes implemented to the social networking platform.

In an effort to tackle the tough competition from Google Plus, Facebook has tweaked the home page of its 750 million users. Immediately, the criticism hit social medias, including Twitter and the words “new Facebook” quickly became popular there. One tweet reads, “#NewFacebook is like America. Plenty of people discontent(ed), but it’s not like anyone is actually going to leave.”

However, according to Facebook, these changes would “make it easier for people to keep up with their friends no matter how frequently or infrequently they visit Facebook — and to make sure they never miss important updates.” The social networking giant is expected to announce even more changes today, when it holds its annual f8 conference in San Francisco for application developers.

According to Mashable, Facebook hopes that these changes can win back some of its users who have grown cold toward the social platform.
