Google has started a new initiative GoMo to help business “go mobile”. With it, Google aims to ensure that business websites are optimized for smartphone users.

GoMO has a GoMo Meter to find whether a website is optimized for mobile devices. If not, it will give a free, customized report on what the site owner needs to do. It takes loading speed, appearance of site images, site text visibility and navigation links into consideration to provide these suggestions. GoMo offers 10 best practices to streamline any website for a mobile.

“A mobile-friendly site can help your business connect with customers and drive conversions,” Google wrote in the site. “Just because you can see your desktop site on a mobile phone doesn’t mean it’s mobile-friendly. Mobile sites are designed for the small screen, with the needs of mobile users in mind.”

However, GoMo’s suggestion won’t tell exactly how to fix an issue in the website. The site owner needs to find a good web designer to take specific actions.
