Twitter Aquires Social Media Analytics Firm Hotspots.ioDCI
Twitter has recently acquired the social media analytics and data company Hotspots.io, according to a notice on the home page of Hotspots.io on Monday. The team at the startup company has joined Twitter’s ‘revenue engineering team’ to build tools for Twitter’s advertising and publishing partners.
There is not much information available on Hotspots.io company and the company’s website is still in the beta mode. But there is a demo available on the website about how the company measures the social-media influence of SuperBowl ads.
The notice in the Hotspots.io website read, “We’re incredibly excited to announce that Twitter has acquired the Hotspots.io team! Starting today, we’ll be joining up with Twitter’s revenue engineering team where our focus will be on developing analytics tools for Twitter’s advertising and publishing partners.”
The founders of Hotspots.io said, “We founded Hotspots.io with the vision of helping companies and individuals maximize their social media ROI though actionable and accessible analytics, and we’re thrilled to be able to continue that work on a much larger scale at Twitter.”
Twitter has confirmed the deal, saying “We’re excited that the team at Hotspots.io is joining to work on the revenue engineering team.”
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Twitter has also recently acquired the shortform blogging platform Posterous, the Internet security company Dasient and the social summary tool Summify, according to The Next Web
